Marcos Chiluisa is a licensed Immigration and Real Estate attorney in Ecuador with 20 years of experience. He is also the President of the Committee of Foreign Investments and Real Estate for the Ecuadorian American Chamber of Commerce. Marcos has been the Ecuador Expert Representative Speaker for prestigious conferences such as Live and Invest Overseas and The Offshore Wealth Summit, held in Houston, Panamá, Belize, and Ecuador.

Marcos is the co-founder of HiExpat Magazine, launched in 2022, a publication dedicated to promoting investment, tourism, and lifestyle opportunities for expatriates in Ecuador.

As a business development advisor and attorney, Marcos specializes in Real Estate, Corporate, Labor, Administrative, and Immigration counseling. With the Ecuadorian Ministry for the Environment’s Forest Administration System, he has served on multiple committees, including the Policy Committee, Nominating Committee, Business Development Committee, and New Environmental Legislation Committee.

Marcos began his professional career in 2004 as a Real Estate development litigator and counselor. Over the years, he has litigated over 150 tax collection trials and handled numerous cases in administrative courts. He also has extensive experience in drafting original business contracts.

Before founding EcuaAssist, Marcos co-founded Ambientar, an environmental consulting firm. Additionally, he served as the main attorney for the NGO Centro de la Niña Trabajadora (Center for the Girl Laborer), where he resolved family conflicts for disadvantaged families who otherwise lacked access to the justice system.

At EcuaAssist, Marcos has been highly active in immigration counseling, advising over 2,000 foreign investors on a wide range of immigration and investment issues. His expertise includes assisting with business creation, corporate mergers, and navigating Ecuador’s most recent property tax benefits for Foreign Investors with New Capital in Ecuador.
